Fangirling over Ben Folds

I'm not very good at this whole "blogging" concept. But I need pour my feelings out to the world (well, 1 person is the more accurate term I suppose), so get used to it. I'm here, I'm blogging, get used to it! Anyway, I think I'm in love. You know, in love with Ben Folds. Can you say amazing? Because I can. I've always had a few of his songs on my iPod and I liked them. I.E. "Army" is the kind of song that makes me want to jump around my room and go crazy, and "The Luckiest" just makes me want to fall in love with someone really awesome. Naturally, Ben Folds has always been cool in my book. So yesterday I decided to expand my horizons and listen to more of his songs, including "Effington". Can you say best song ever? The lyrics are just so hilarious/witty: "Are they f'ing in their yards? F'ing in their cars? F'ing in the trailers and the backroads and the parking lots of Effington?" C'mon, don't tell me that's not awesome! Aaaaaand, we share a birthday. He's like...the only celebrity I share a birthday with, apart from that girl from Phantom of the Opera...but she doesn't really count.

The other day, I rearranged my room so that my bed is like perpendicular to my desk (if you can imagine that) and it's against my wall. This really made me want to go back in time and tell myself to do this long ago. Then again, I would like to go back in time and tell myself to do a lot of things. But seriously, my room makes me happy about life. It's awesome to watch movies now because my bed isn't in the middle of the room and I have the wall to lean against. I don't even want to watch movies in my living room anymore. Except for my movies that are on VHS (because I still haven't accepted the fact that I live in the 21st Century), because unfortunately my laptop doesn't have a VCR. And I can watch movies with friends in here now! Before, there wasn't anywhere for another person to sit, unless we both squeezed on the narrow part of my bed, spooned, or sat upright. I really wanna have some people over now, so I can test this. It also lifted my mood, as I've been overly happy these past few days. I guess Feng Shui really works?

So how about that torch lighting? FAIL. I did, however, enjoy Gretzsky's "uh oh, something is wrong" face. Also, for three whole minutes I had to sit there and debate on kd lang's gender. When they first showed her, she looked like a man, and they wouldn't show her again because they were panning the audience during the whole song. And while I was trying to rationalize it in my head, I was like, "well, she does kind of have a low voice...maybe it's a man with a really high singing voice." I eventually had to even take my cat off my lap (who is obsessed with me this evening) in order to look it up on Wikipedia. kd lang is a woman.

And, ugh, I am listening to the remake of "We Are the World". Horrible. People should not be allowed to touch that song. You are not the world, the world happened. Stop. Just stop. They essentially turned it into a rap song! What the hell!?
